
KOLLAM: The centenary celebrations of the historic meeting between Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi and the All-Religious Conference will be held at the Asramam Maidanam today. The celebrations, organised by the Sivagiri Mutt and the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Studies and Research under the KPCC, will be inaugurated by Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi.
The centenary celebrations will begin at 9.30 am with Maha Guru Puja. At 10 am, Yati Puja and Guru Vandana will be held. 25 Christian priests from Kerala and outside, 25 Muslim scholars, and 50 monks from different parts of the country will be honoured. At 10.30 am, Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda will deliver a message at the all-religious conference. Panakkad Sayed Sadik Ali Shihab Thanga, various Christian and Islamic priests will speak at the event.
Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust Secretary Swami Shubhangananda will deliver the Parinirvana message of Gurudeva. Rahul Gandhi will inaugurate the centenary celebrations. Swami Sachidananda will preside.
AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal will talk at the event. UDF Convener Adoor Prakash MP will deliver the welcome address. Thirty thousand people from Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Kottayam districts will participate.
