THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rahul Easwar said he is happy that actor Dileep has got justice. He added that when people like him are trapped in false cases, the media should also show support. He made the comments while being brought in for a medical examination before being produced in court for custody. Rahul has been sent to police custody until 11 am on Thursday.

“I ended my hunger strike after the doctor said my kidneys could be affected. I went four days without water and five days without food. I have been in jail for 11 days. This is a case where I should have been granted station bail. There was no need to keep me in jail like this. I have lost 11 kilos,” Rahul said.

Rahul, who is staying in a hospital cell, told officials he was hungry. They then brought him food. He ended his hunger strike by eating three dosas and chutney. The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court had rejected his bail plea on December 6, following which Rahul informed his willingness to end the hunger strike. He was arrested for insulting the young woman who filed a sexual harassment complaint against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil.
