'He named me Mohanlal'; Actor's maternal uncle Gopinathan Nair passes away

KOLLAM: Gopinathan Nair (93), former general manager of Alappuzha District Cooperative Bank and elder brother of actor Mohanlal's mother passed away on Saturday. He was a resident of Amritapuri, Kollam. In an interview once, Mohanlal revealed that it was indeed Gopinathan Nair who chose the name for him and his brother (Pyarelal) at the time of their birth.

Gopinathan Nair was an active worker at Mata Amritanandamayi's ashram. The funeral will be held at Amritapuri Ashram on Sunday evening. Wife: Radhabhai, daughter: Gayathri, son-in-law: Rajesh, granddaughter: Devika.
