Heavy rainfall to continue in Kerala; special warning in districts including Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are likely to continue in Kerala on Saturday. The Meteorological Department informed of the possibility of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds for the next five days.

Moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds are likely at isolated places in Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts in the next three hours. According to IMD, there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Kasaragod districts.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in various districts in the forecast of possible rain for the next five days. On May 6, a yellow alert was issued in Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Palakkad districts. The rainfall is likely to be between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm in 24 hours.

Isolated rain with thundershowers and strong winds gusting to 40 to 50 kmph are likely in Kerala on May 5th and 6th.
