THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar stepped forward criticizing the Global Ayyappa Sangamam to be held on September 20, as a political drama. While talking to the media in the capital city, he asked if the Ayyappa Sangamam is being held to get Hindu votes in the upcoming elections. He also criticized the chief minister in harsh language. Th party chief also responded to the criticisms of the chief minister made during the press meet convened the other day.
His words
The chief minister says that I don't know anything about Kerala. I have not said that I am a political scholar. I have climbed the eighteen steps in Sabarimala. I have enough knowledge about Sabarimala. I don't want to become a scholar like the chief minister who have read Karl Marx. The chief minister said Ayyappa Sangamam should not be seen politically. This is to fool the people. If it is not a political event, then is it the chief minister who should talk about the Sangamam. Isn't the Devaswom Board Chairman? This is a drama played before the elections to garner Hindu votes.
Why was Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin invited for the event? When did he turn an Ayyappa devotee? DMK's Stalin, who said Hindus are a virus, and the CPM chief minister, who harmed Ayyappa devotees, should not attend the Ayyappa Sangamam. The chief minister is an atheist. Who will believe when he talks about worship. Should a non-believer chief minister conduct the programme? If someone speaks against the Muslim community, will they be invited to a Muslim function?
