Actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi said that he got his name removed from the ‘thanks card’ from the film 'Empuraan'. In his speech in the Rajya Sabha, he said that there was no pressure of any kind towards the film.
‘The producers of 'Empuraan' did not face any kind of pressure. The producers did it at their own will. I got my name removed from the ‘thanks card’. This is the truth. Will those who talk about 'Empuraan' have the courage to release ‘TP 51’, asked Suresh Gopi.
Union Minister Suresh Gopi's reply to CPM member John Brittas led to the ruckus in the Rajya Sabha. Suresh Gopi stood up to speak after Brittas said BJP is the 'Munna' in 'Empuraan'. 'Munna is a character in Empuraan. We can see that Munna here. We can see him on BJP’s bench. This Munna will be recognized by Malayalees and Kerala. That is the history of Kerala. As we closed BJP’s account in Nemom, that account will also be closed soon. A mistake was made by a Malayali and that will be corrected soon,’ these words of John Brittas angered Suresh Gopi.
