THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Jayan Cherthala, Vice President of AMMA, has vowed to address and rectify any shortcomings within the organization. Cherthala stated that AMMA is committed to supporting victims and will thoroughly explain the ongoing situation. He acknowledged that AMMA's failure to act on actress Revathi Sampath's 2019 complaint was a mistake.
"I am not intimidated by any power group," Cherthala asserted. "If such a group exists, I am not afraid of it. The actress who alleged misconduct by Siddique had come forward previously, and it was an error not to conduct a proper investigation at that time." He emphasized his commitment to reform within AMMA, stating, "We live for society, and those in power, including politicians and filmmakers, are accountable to the public."
Cherthala had previously stated that holding a leadership position amid such allegations is inappropriate. He reaffirmed that Siddique's resignation was the right step and stressed that any allegations should lead to the removal of responsibilities and a thorough investigation.
