
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department predicted heavy rainfall in the state for the next five days. A yellow alert was declared in various districts. Today, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts are on yellow alert, while Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts are on yellow alert on Wednesday.
Isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rain is defined as a rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department announced a possibility of rain with thundershowers in isolated places from today to the 4th of December.
Lightning is dangerous. It can cause great damage to human and animal lives, electrical and communication networks, and household appliances connected to electrical conductors. Therefore, the public should take the following precautions from the moment they first see a thunderstorm. Since lightning is not always visible, do not refrain from taking such precautions.
