KANNUR: Minister K Rajan said that the District Collector has not given a statement that Naveen Babu, who was the Kannur ADM, committed any wrongdoing. The minister also reiterated that Naveen Babu was not a corrupt official. Minister Rajan, who had been absent from the Revenue Department programs in Kannur after the ADM's suicide, shared the stage with the Collector today.
The Collector had given a statement that he had informed the Revenue Minister about the speech made by District Panchayat President PP Divya during Naveen Babu's farewell ceremony. Minister K Rajan had not participated in the Revenue Department programs in the district after this. He objected to sharing the stage with the Collector. However, the minister says that he has no rift with the Collector.
"No complaint has been received against Naveen Babu. No wrongdoing has been found in the Revenue Department's investigation. I and the Chief Minister are convinced of this," the minister said. The minister added that the Collector has not given a statement that ADM Naveen Babu committed corruption.
The report submitted by the investigation team to the court states that the Collector spoke to the Minister twice in the evening on the day of Naveen Babu's farewell and once the next day. The Minister has not denied this.
