Kazhakkoottam IT employee molestation case; Accused arrested from Madurai

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An accused who barged into a hostel in Kazhakkoottam and molested a woman IT employee was arrested by police from Madurai. No further details about the accused have been released.

It is reported that the accused even entered another hostel on the premises and stole a wallet. The accused will be brought to Thiruvananthapuram soon. The police will soon begin procedures, including an identification parade.

The incident took place last Thursday. The accused arrived at the hostel of an IT employee late at night. The young woman was alone in her room at the time of the incident. During the assault, the woman pushed away the accused, forcing him to flee the spot. The victim didn’t raise any alarm during the night as she was terrorised by the incident. In the morning, she told the hostel authorities about the horrific intrusion, and the news was thus out.

The woman went to the Kazhakkoottam police station on Friday morning and filed a complaint. The woman stated that she had not met the accused before. A case was registered and an investigation was started after the woman underwent a medical examination.
