Kerala government to popularize general education sector, minister issues guidelines

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Tuesday said that measures should be taken to implement activities with the participation and coordination of lawmakers at all levels to popularize public education in the state.

The minister was speaking at a meeting of high-level officials of the General Education Department of Kerala. The minister also suggested that the cooperation of the local self-government bodies and lawmakers should be ensured to implement the project activities. The meeting was aimed at project activities, planning, implementation, officer empowerment etc. at the state and district BRC levels of Samagra Shiksha Kerala, which is a major central project under the Department of Public Education.

A comprehensive assessment of the project activities implemented by Samagra Shiksha Kerala in the new academic year was also held in the meeting. State and district level program officers explained the activities implemented. The minister instructed the officials to take steps for the timely completion of the project activities and thereby to prepare and implement the integrated project activities to make the public education sector of the state more efficient.
