THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government made changes regarding the Bakrid holiday in the state. The government postponed the earlier scheduled Friday’s Bakrid holiday to Saturday. There had been a demand for a two-day holiday for the festival.
Bakrid was originally declared a holiday on Friday, but the delayed new moon sighting made religious scholars change the date to Saturday. The state cabinet meeting changed the holiday to avoid confusion among the populace. Friday will be a working day in the state.
