Kerala's rain fury: IMD urges people to avoid beaches, alert in four districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian metrological department warned about more rains in the state for the coming days. A yellow alert was issued in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts for Saturday.

In the next three hours, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram and Wayanad districts

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has informed us that there is a possibility of high waves and rough seas along the Kannur and Kasaragod coasts.

The Kallakadal phenomenon is also expected to hit the Kerala coast by 11:30 pm tomorrow. IMD has prohibited fishing in the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts. Fishermen and coastal residents should exercise special caution.

1. As the rough seas are likely to intensify, stay away from the dangerous areas as per the instructions of the authorities.

2. Keep fishing vessels (boats, boats, etc.) safely moored in the harbour. Keeping a safe distance between boats can avoid the possibility of collision. The safety of fishing equipment should be ensured.
