King cobra under child's toy in Kannur; narrow escape for family

KANNUR: A king cobra was caught from a house at Cheruvanchery, Koothuparamba in the district. The snake was caught from the house of Sreejith in Cheruvanchery. The king cobra was found lying under the child's electronic car. The snake was found Monday night at 9 pm.

The snake was found when the toy car was being taken for the child to play with. The family immediately informed the forest department. Snake catcher Bijilesh Kodiyeri arrived and caught the king cobra. It is said to be about six feet long. The accident was averted as the child was not near the toy when the snake was seen.
