KOTTAYAM: The postmortem report says that Bindu met her tragic end when the old building of Kottayam Medical College collapsed. The initial postmortem report states that Bindu died due to internal injuries. The report also states that heavy objects fell on her body and caused internal injuries.

The inquest report states that Bindu's skull was crushed by falling concrete pillars. Her face was also seriously injured. The police said that the report also states that her skull was crushed and her ribs were broken. There was an argument that Bindu died of suffocation from being stuck in the rubble of the building. Reports have now come that refute these arguments. There are allegations that the rescue operation started two and a half hours late and this led to Bindu's death. However, eyewitnesses said that Bindu was breathing when she was pulled out of the rubble.

Bindu's funeral was held at her home today afternoon. Her son Navneet performed the last rites. The funeral was attended by a large crowd. Bindu's body was brought home at around 10 am. Leaders including Opposition Leader VD Satheesan and a large crowd had arrived here to pay their last respects. Meanwhile, the Youth Congress and BJP staged a protest dharna and demonstration at Kottayam Medical College.
