THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran said that the LDF and the UDF cheated the people of Kerala by passing a fake resolution in the Legislative Assembly stating that the state did not receive assistance from the Centre in the Wayanad landslides. He demanded that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Opposition Leader VD Satheesan should apologise to the people for misusing the Legislative Assembly.

"The rehabilitation activities have come to a halt due to the failure of the state government. However, VD Satheesan is helping Pinarayi Vijayan to cover up this failure. The people of Wayanad protested against the Chief Secretary today as they were aware of the truth. The landslide-affected people in Wayanad are still in distress," Surendran said.

"The state government is not providing money even for treatment and other basic issues. The state has not yet submitted a detailed memorandum to the Centre. The state government is cheating the affected people by waiting for the special package without spending the amount in the state relief fund allocated earlier by the Centre," Surendran said.
