THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University Registrar Dr K S Anil Kumar reached the office challenging vice chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal. He said that the law will take its course.

'Let the law take its course. Will proceed based on the court verdict,' Anil Kumar told media. The VC had directed the security personnel to stop Anil Kumar from entering the office, but they did not comply.

Dr Mohanan Kunnummal, who returned from Russia, took over the charge from Dr Ciza Thomas yesterday. It was after this that Anil Kumar was barred from entering the office. The VC barred him when Anil Kumar entered the office and started examining the files. The notice also stated that if he violated it, action would be taken for trespassing.

Following the notice, Dr Anil Kumar applied for long-term leave for medical purposes, but the VC rejected that too. The action was taken on the grounds that the leave was not relevant since he was under suspension. The leave letter stated that the duties of the registrar should be given to the controller of examinations or the joint director of the Karyavattom campus.

After the leave application was rejected, Dr Anil Kumar sent an email to the VC stating that the syndicate had cancelled the suspension. The syndicate has to examine the suspension. The email also pointed that the high court had also directed that the appropriate forum be examined.
