Lineman suspended for disconnecting power supply to minister's residence

CHARUMMOODU: Sanil Kumar, a Cherthala native lineman of the KSEB Nooranad section office, has been suspended by the director for disconnecting electricity at the house of Minister P Prasad despite paying the bill.

Haripad deputy chief engineer MV Madhu and Mavelikkara assistant executive engineer Rajeev conducted an inspection at the KSEB office in Nooranad and the minister's house at Nooranad's Mattappalli and handed over the investigation report to the KSEB director through the chief engineer. Even after paying the bill on February 24, the electricity supply to the minister's house was cut off on March 2. The investigation also found that the electricity was restored only on March 6 after the minister's friend and panchayat member Ajay Ghosh informed the KSEB office in Nooranad.
