Massive drug bust in Thiruvananthapuram; 300 kg of ganja seized from Innova car, youth arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major anti-narcotics operation, 300 kg of ganja was seized from an Innova car at Pappanamcode in Thiruvananthapuram. A youth identified as Afsal, a native of Karakulam, has been arrested in connection with the case.

The accused was intercepted by the DANSAF (District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force) team while allegedly attempting to smuggle the contraband using the Innova car. According to officials, he was waiting to hand over the vehicle and the ganja to another person when he was taken into custody.

The operation was carried out by a team led by Narcotics Assistant Commissioner Gopakumar. Authorities said the accused has been involved in similar cases in the past. He is currently being questioned, and officials are investigating whether more people were involved in the smuggling network.
