Liquor bottles found inside sanctum sanctorum of temple in Thiruvananthapuram; 30 litres seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dozens of liquor bottles were found inside the sanctum sanctorum of a family temple in Thiruvananthapuram. 30 litres of liquor were seized during the inspection conducted by the excise department. Potty (Arjun), a native of Punnakkadu, Neyyattinkara, was taken into custody.

Under the cover of worship in the temple, liquor sales were ongoing. Excise officials reached the spot and asked Potty to take out the liquor bottles. With this, Potty entered the sanctum sanctorum and started to take the bottles one by one, which were hidden near the idols of god.

The inspection was conducted under the leadership of Excise Inspector AK Ajayakumar and Preventive Officer MS Arunkumar.
