Local body polls: Final voter list expected on August 30, draft voter list published

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the re-division of the constituencies of the local self-government bodies in the capital district, the voters in the existing voter list were arranged in new wards and the draft voter list was published. The draft voter list was published in the respective local self-government bodies, block panchayat offices, taluk offices and village offices.

Applications and objections regarding the draft voter list will be received by the respective EROs till August 7th. The EROs will take further action on the applications and complete the corrections on August 29 and publish the final voter list on August 30.

In a meeting held at the Collectorate Conference Hall, the District Collector, also the District Election Officer, explained the Election Commission's guidelines for updating the voter list. The meeting was attended by the Election Deputy Collector, Joint Director of Local Self-Government, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers.
