Local holiday in district; Traffic restrictions in city from today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A local holiday has been declared in the capital city tomorrow in the wake of Attukal Pongala. The district collector has announced that the holiday will be applicable to all educational institutions, government and semi-government institutions in the district. The authorities have also informed that there will be traffic restrictions in the city from this afternoon.

A holiday has been given today for 28 schools within the Thiruvananthapuram city limits to provide accommodation for police officers coming on duty in connection with Pongala. The order was issued by the deputy director of education.

Thunchan Smaraka Samiti TTI, Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Karamana, Govt Boys High School Chalai, Govt Girls High School Chalai, Govt L P School Chalai, Govt Tamil Higher Secondary School Chalai, Govt UP School Chalai, Govt Sanskrit High School Fort, Govt Sanskrit LP School Fort, Govt Central High School, Govt LP School Kuriyathi, Jawahar EMHS Manakkad, Sree Maruthiram EMHS Karamana, Govt UP School Valiyasala, Sree Vidyadhiraja Vidyamandir Kalippam Kulam, Govt UP School Ambalathara, Govt UP School Thampanoor, Govt Boys School Karamana, Govt Girls High School Karamana, SMV Govt School Thampanoor, Attukal Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Govt Higher Secondary School Kamaleswaram, Govt UP School Konchiravila, Govt High School Kalady, Govt UP School Nedumkad, Govt UP School Fort, Govt Higher Secondary School Manacaud and Mission School Fort have been given a holiday.
