PALAKKAD: The winner of the Rs 10 crore Summer Bumper lottery prize has come forward. The winning ticket belongs to a native of Salem, Tamil Nadu. The individual arrived at an agency in Palakkad with the ticket and is expected to visit the lottery headquarters tomorrow to officially hand over the ticket.
The only request the winner made was to keep his identity confidential and not to reveal his name. The draw for the Summer Bumper lottery was held on April 2nd.
The draw took place at Gorky Bhavan, the lottery headquarters. The first prize went to ticket number SG 513715, which was sold in Palakkad. The winning ticket was sold by King Star Lottery Agency, run by S. Suresh, located at the Palakkad Municipal Bus Stand. It was one among 180 tickets purchased under the name 'Dhanalakshmi Lottery Agency.'
King Star Lottery Agency sold 1.3 lakh bumper tickets. The third prize of Rs 5 lakh also went to a ticket sold by this agency. The price of the Summer Bumper ticket was Rs 250. A total of 36 lakh tickets were sold, all of which were completely sold out. Palakkad sold the highest number of tickets, followed by Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur districts.
