Mahasamadhi Day to be observed today in memory of Guru

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 98th Mahasamadhi of Vishwaguru Sree Narayana Gurudeva, who sacrificed his life and soul for the benefit of others, will be observed all over the world today. Community prayers and special pujas will be held at the Mahasamadhi site of Varkala Sivagiri, the sacred Chempazhanthi Gurukula, associated mutts and Gurudeva temples around the world.

The Maha Parinirvana Conference to be held at Sivagiri at 10 am will be inaugurated by Aptalokandananda Swamiji Maharaj (Sri Ramakrishna Mutt, Pathanamthitta). Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda will preside. Swami Saradananda and Swami Sookshmananda will deliver the blessing discourse and V.M. Sudheeran will deliver the keynote address. Paramatmanandagiri will deliver the Mahasamadhi message. General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda will give the welcome address and Swami Asangananda Giri will deliver the vote of thanks. At 2 pm, a homa yajna will be performed at Sarada mutt under the leadership of the senior sanyasis. Mahasamadhi puja will be held at 3.30 pm, the time of Mahasamadhi.

The Mahasamadhi Day Observation Conference to be held at Chempazhanthi Vayalvaram House will be inaugurated by Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally at 10 am. Swami Satyanatha Tirtha will deliver the blessing discourse. Kadakampally Surendran MLA and M.M. Hasan will participate.
