Man injured in neck by machine while cutting coconut tree; tragic end for worker in Ernakulam

KOCHI: The man injured in the accident while cutting a coconut tree in Cheranallur, Ernakulam has died. The deceased Raveendranath is a native of Kakkanad. The machine accidentally injured his neck while he was cutting the coconut tree. The seriously injured Raveendranath was admitted to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The accident occurred at 12 noon today while Raveendranath was cutting a coconut tree on private land in Robert Colony, Cheranallur. The machine accidentally hit his body while cutting the coconut fronds. Raveendranath hung on the coconut tree for a long time, bleeding. The fire force arrived after the locals passed the information, but could not climb the coconut tree using a regular ladder. The fire force built a temporary structure to bring Raveendranath down and took him to a nearby private hospital afterwards.
