Management gives in; indefinite strike announced at Milma withdrawn

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The indefinite strike jointly announced by the trade unions from 25.06.2024 protesting the delay in the implementation of the long-term contract of workers at Milma was settled in a conciliation meeting presided over by Labor Commissioner Arjun Pandian IAS.

Under the terms of the settlement, the management assured that the long-term contract service wage provisions would be implemented in the establishment before July 15, subject to government approval, and based on the assurance given by the management, the trade unions agreed to postpone the indefinite strike jointly announced by the trade unions from 25.06.2024.

In the meeting, the management was represented by Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Managing Director Asif K Yusuf IAS, Chairman KS Mani, Regional Cooperative Marketing Federation Chairman Dr Murali P, KC James and Wilson JP. Trade unions were represented by A Babu, Sreekumaran MS and PK Biju (CITU ), Bhuvanachandran Nair, S Suresh Kumar (INTUC), KS Madhusudhanan and S Suresh Kumar (AITUC).

Besides the Labor Commissioner, Additional Labor Commissioner (Industrial Relations) K Sreelal, Deputy Labor Commissioner (Headquarters) Sindhu KS also attended the meeting.
