KOTTARAKKARA: Reason, Happy, and Life — three siblings with unique names, all carrying a message of positivity. Parents Pastor Tommy Alexander (62) and Elizabeth Tommy (63), natives of Pulamon, chose these rare names with a special thought in mind: to be different.
Their first child, born after a long wait, was named Reason. The second, a boy, was named Happy. The third, a girl, was named Life.
At school, the unusual names often invited teasing, but their parents encouraged them by saying no one else had names like theirs. Over time, the siblings grew proud of their identities. In every class they studied, they remained the only ones with such distinct names.
Reason Tommy (29), who completed B.Com and worked in accounting, is now a missionary in Andhra Pradesh. Happy Tommy (28), also a B.Com graduate with a Fire and Safety course, is now a worship leader. Their sister, Life Elizabeth Tommy (25), completed BBA and is working in Dubai in the Cyber Security SOC department, though she is currently home due to her mother’s health issues.
“I never met anyone with my name during my school days. That made me want to give my children names that stand out too,” said Tommy Alexander.
