Messing up Thrissur Pooram; three decisions taken in cabinet meet, probe against ADGP

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reacted to the controversy related to the Thrissur Pooram. There were attempts to disrupt Pooram. He clarified that the government had tried to solve the problems.


It was a planned move aimed at elections. Efforts were made to investigate the matter flawlessly. ADGP's investigation report was received on September 23. This investigation report was not comprehensive. The cabinet discussed about conducting pooram smoothly in future without any issues. Three decisions have been taken. There will be a detailed investigation under the leadership of the crime branch chief on the attempt to mess up Thrissur Pooram.

There were officials from various departments in charge of Pooram. Intelligence ADGP Manoj Abraham IPS has been entrusted to investigate to find out whether there have been any lapses from their side. A report has been obtained on the lapses of ADGP Ajith Kumar, in charge of law and order. The third thing is that the state police chief has been tasked for investigating and submitting a detailed report.


Meantime, the chief minister announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to those who lost their parents in the Wayanad disaster and Rs 5 lakh to the children who lost one of their parents.
