Milma reconsiders price hike plan; expert committee to be formed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation decided not to implement a price hike for Milma milk for the time being. The board of directors met today to discuss the price hike and decided to form an expert committee to decide if there needs to be a price hike.

Milma Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam unions decided in favour of the hike. Milma had increased the price of milk by Rs. 4 per litre in September 2019 and by Rs. 6 per litre in December 2022. Currently, Milma milk (toned milk) is priced at Rs. 52 per litre. Milma sells 1.7 million litres of milk in Kerala every day.
