THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition protests erupted inside the Kerala assembly over the Sabarimala gold pedestal controversy. The opposition members shouted just after the beginning of the question hour. Opposition leader VD Satheesan said he was shocked by the High Court observation that the Dwarapalaka sculpture of the temple was indeed sold. He demanded that the Devaswom Minister resign and that the Devaswom Board be dismissed.

Meanwhile, Minister P Rajeev said that the investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the court. The government and the Devaswom Board have welcomed it. Minister MB Rajesh reminded the opposition of the Supreme Court's warning not to play politics over every issue. The opposition then stormed into the well of the house, and the question hour was cancelled.
