KANNUR: Miscreants set the congress office on fire while protests were going on against the attack towards Health Minister Veena George by KSU. The incident happened early Thursday morning. The Paral Mandal Congress Committee office in Kallilthazhe was set on fire. The fire force team reached the spot and doused the flames. The Congress alleged that the office was set on fire by the CPM. The CPM is destroying Congress’ flagpoles and flex boards in various parts of the state.

Meantime, Veena George admitted to Kannur Pariyaram Medical College will undergo an expert examination today. MRI scanning revealed that there are no serious problems. Initial examination revealed that she has a minor neck injury. A medical board meet will be held at 10 am today.

The minister was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College at 10 pm last night. The minister, who was in the intensive care unit of the district hospital, was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for further examinations at night.

The minister was rushed to the Kannur District Hospital yesterday after being told that KSU workers hit her on her neck and twisted her hands. However, the CCTV footage of the incident has not been received yet. All five KS workers were remanded yesterday in connection with the incident. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against them. They were produced before the magistrate last night after a medical examination.
