THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the suspension of the VC over the death of Siddharth, student of Pookod Veterinary College, an order was issued appointing a new VC. Chancellor's order has been issued appointing Dr. PC Saseendranath, retired professor of Veterinary University, as the new Vice Chancellor of Kerala Veterinary University.

Dr MR Saseendranath was suspended in connection with Siddharth's death. The governor had also ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident. The governor also criticized that the student had to face harassment for three consecutive days and all this was with the knowledge of the university authorities.

"There has been a serious failure on the part of the university. A letter has been sent to the High Court seeking the services of a judge for judicial enquiry. College hostels are being converted into headquarters of SFI. SFI and Popular Front work together. Such reports have been received. Siddharth did not get food or water for 24 hours. Siddharth was murdered'- this was what the governor told the media at Thiruvananthapuram airport. The Governor has also informed that a committee will be appointed for a judicial inquiry based on the reply of the High Court.

At the same time, Minister J Chinchurani stated that the Governor's action of suspending the Vice Chancellor will not be accepted. "The action of the governor who suspended the vice-chancellor was not correct. The governor took this decision suddenly without any consultation with the government or the department. Therefore, this action will never be accepted," the minister responded to the media in Alappuzha.
