WAYANAD: Over 150 people, including children, women and the elderly are trapped at the Tree Valley Resort in Mundakkai since early last night. Aswan, one of the stranded tourists, described the situation to media, stating that they are living every moment with death looming over them and are desperately hoping for rescuers to arrive soon.

The group has been stuck at the resort since 2 am and many among them are seriously injured. Many accident victims have been rescued but only the most seriously injured are having their wounds cleaned now. Without urgent hospital treatment, there will be many deaths.

Adding to the dire situation, there has been no water or food available since yesterday. 'Ten to eleven members of one family are missing. We hear that people are coming to rescue us, but no one has arrived yet. We are facing death,' said Aswan.
