THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thampanoor railway police are in a fix. The officials have been searching for someone since September 2025, but to no avail. On September 13, a thali chain, mostly worn by women from Southern Kerala, was found in the washroom of the station. It is estimated that the chain costs around Rs 3.5 lakh. The police are treading cautiously as they can’t publicise the details or specifications of the chain for fear of getting duped.

It was a passenger who found the chain inside the toilet. She handed it over to the railway police on duty. Police expected the owner to arrive in a panic, looking for the chain. However, three months have passed, and there is still no news regarding the owner. In the meantime, messages were sent to local police stations and WhatsApp groups, but to no avail. The police have not received any complaint about the loss of the necklace.

It is believed that the owner may be someone living on the outskirts, unaware that her chain is safely in the custody of the railway police. If approached with the exact number and details, the necklace will be returned. For this, the Thampanoor Railway Police can be contacted on 9497981113 and 8281621941.
