One killed, 10 injured in KSRTC bus-pickup van collision in Edappal flyover

MALAPPURAM: One person died after a KSRTC bus and a courier pickup van collided in the flyover. The dead is Rajendran of Palakkad and the driver of the pickup van. Almost ten passengers of the bus sustained injuries. The KSRTC swift bus proceeding to Malappuram from Thiruvananthapuram collided with the pickup van.

Rajendran got trapped inside the pickup van damaged in the impact. After two hours of effort, the body was taken out after pulling back the pick-up van with a crane. Eyewitnesses said the KSRTC bus was over speeded. Accidents are on the rise recently in the Edappal flyover.
