KALPETTA: There is a strong demand to resume the search for the people missing in Chooralmala and Mundakkai landslide disaster. 47 people affected by the landslide are yet to be found. The opposition parties in Wayanad demanded the government to resume the search again. The move is to stage protests if search is not resumed.

The relatives of the missing had earlier requested the chief secretary to conduct a search in Soochipara. Five body parts were found in the search conducted. The search has since been suspended for weeks. The opposition parties are intensifying their protest in this context.

Muslim League said the government should take into account the relief it gives to the relatives if at least body parts are obtained. The opposition are planning to raise the issue when the assembly session convenes. The Muslim League also said that they will not hesitate to stage protests if the search does not continue.

Congress leader and Kalpetta MLA T Siddique said that if the government does not resume the search to find the missing, a public search will be conducted. The work of the cabinet sub-committee has been stopped. Siddique criticized that no action was taken in this regard despite requesting the chief minister.
