P K Sreemathy’s bag containing phone, gold and cash stolen

PATNA: A mobile phone and handbag of CPM central committee member P K Sreemathy were stolen during a train journey. The theft happened when she was on her way to Samastipur in Bihar from Kolkata. The bag contained Rs 40,000, mobile phone, gold earrings and identity cards. She has lodged a complaint with the police. The bags of her fellow travelers were also stolen.

The incident happened when she was on her way to attend a meet at Dalsinghsarai. She boarded the train at 8 pm last night. She was lying on the lower berth in the AC coach. She kept her handbag besides her head. She said that she does not know when it happened and that it could be after 4 am. She came to know about the theft just before reaching Lakhisarai station. Complained to the DGP. She said that she has filed complaints at the office of the RPF and police station.
