THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has given a vital post to Dr P Sarin, who left congress and joined the CPM. He has been appointed as advisor to Vigyan Kerala. He will receive a monthly salary of Rs 80,000.
Sarin was the convenor of the KPCC Digital Media Cell. He left the Congress during the Palakkad by-election and sought refuge in the CPM. Sarin's entry into the CPM was much discussed.
He also contested in the by-election as an LDF independent against Rahul Mamkootathil. Sarin could not win and could only come in third place.
However, the CPM has caught hold of Sarin, who was with them in a crucial election. The government hopes that Sarin will be able to handle the new responsibilities well since he is a civil service graduate.
