
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Film director and former MLA P T Kunju Muhammed, accused in the sexual assault case, was arrested and released. He appeared at the cantonment station Tuesday morning. The court had earlier granted him anticipatory bail. He was released on station bail as per court’s directive. A woman film worker had filed a complaint against the director.
The incident happened on November 6. P T was the chairman of the jury that selects films for the IFFK. The case is that he misbehaved with her, who was a jury member during the selection of films for the IFFK, at a hotel room in the capital city.
The complaint lodged with the chief minister was handed over to the Cantonment Police. The police recorded her statement and examined the CCTV footage and collected evidence. However, PT denied the complaint. He said that the complainant might have misunderstood and if so, he was ready to apologize to her.
