THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The parents of Anishya, an assistant public prosecutor at the Paravur court, met with Governor Arif Muhammad Khan demanding that the CBI investigate her suicide. Anishya's mother, Prasanna, alleged that the current Crime Branch investigation is unsatisfactory and that they are attempting to protect the accused. Anishya's parents said the governor informed them that their request would be considered.

The Crime Branch's case is that Anishya committed suicide due to harassment at work. Deputy Director of Prosecution Abdul Jalil and APC Shyam Krishnan, who were charged with incitement to suicide, were arrested but later granted bail. Anishya wrote about the mental torture she endured in a 19-page suicide note and sent voice messages to friends detailing her ordeal.

The parents allege that despite the evidence, the investigation is not pursuing other accused individuals and that evidence is not being properly collected against them. In this situation, they asked the governor to intervene and transfer the investigation to the CBI.

Even after Anishya's death, the family claims that the culprits are spreading false propaganda against their daughter. The Justice for Anishya Action Council also alleges that the defendants are misleading the court by creating fake documents. The family has also approached the High Court seeking a CBI probe.
