ALAPPUZHA: CPM Alappuzha district secretary R Nazar said that the party has given more consideration to G Sudhakaran than to anyone else. Nazar said Sudhakaran was removed from the state committee and given the responsibilities of the Alappuzha district due to his age.

R NAZAR:

“We do not see Comrade Sudhakaran as just a senior leader of the party. His brother, Comrade Bhuvaneswaran, was martyred at the NSS College in Pandalam when we were all working in the student movement. As the brother of that martyr, we gave Comrade Sudhakaran more consideration than anyone else. We have never shown any neglect to him. He was excluded from the state committee as he crossed the age of 75. Then it was decided that he should work in the Alappuzha district.

After that meeting, he was not ready to come to the district committee. We even gave him a separate office. He started giving us instructions late, and he even conducted the important political campaign for the Left in the parliamentary elections. When it came to renewing his membership, Sudhakaran said that any unit under the district committee would be enough. That is how a new unit was formed, and he was included. When the scrutiny meeting was held, Sudhakaran said he would not participate.”
