People who live together by making agreement are not husband and wife: High Court

KOCHI: The High Court ruled that if an agreement is made to live together, then the husband and wife cannot become husband and wife. The High Court quashed the trial court's order which convicted the young man and his relatives on charges including cruelty to his wife in the case where the young woman who lived like this committed suicide. In the case where the young woman set fire to herself, Justice Sophie Thomas gave the verdict, leaving Narayanan and his brother Radhakrishnan alone.
