KOCHI: The court rejected the bail pleas of the accused in the Alappuzha hybrid cannabis case on Wednesday. The bail pleas of the first accused Taslima and her husband Sultan Akbar Ali have been rejected. Meanwhile, actor Sreenath Bhasi will be made a witness in this case.

Excise will summon Sreenath Bhasi again and a confidential statement will be recorded.

Shady details of drug dealing, prostitution, and gold smuggling involving film stars came to light after Taslima was arrested for the illegal possession of hybrid ganja worth crores in the market. Information about money transactions and prostitution with prominent figures in the film industry was obtained from WhatsApp messages on Taslima's phone.

The Chennai-based gold smuggling deal was also revealed when the excise team caught Sultan while attempting to flee the country.

Taslima was arrested when she arrived in Alappuzha with Ganja. Taslima's children were alongside her at the time of the arrest. She was arrested by Alappuzha Narcotics CI Mahesh and his team. Taslima, also known as Christina, imported hybrid cannabis from Thailand.
