KOLLAM: Other dairy farmers in the area have come forward against the man who protested in front of the milk society, alleging that only his cows' milk is not being accepted. The man protested in front of the dairy producers' association in Koonayil, Paravur, Kollam. The man alleged that the society authorities were not accepting only the milk of his cows, making a strange claim that the milk was spoiling. The man protested in front of society by pouring the milk he brought over his head. The footage of the incident is circulating on social media.

However, now other dairy farmers in the area have come forward to refute the man's claims. The protest was led by a man named Vishnu, a native of Paravur. Locals say that he is not a dairy farmer but that his profession is cow trading.

"He brings cows from Tamil Nadu and elsewhere for business. All of them are cows that have not been milked for days. The milk of those cows spoils quickly. When that milk is received at the milk society, the remaining milk also gets spoiled. About sixty farmers provide milk to that society. A can holds 40 litres of milk. A can is filled when more than one farmer delivers their milk. In that case, if one person brings bad milk, all the rest gets spoiled. When this was discovered, a special can was given to this man. When that milk also spoiled, the general meeting decided not to take milk from that person from now on. That decision was not made by the society authorities alone," say other dairy farmers.

No one uses the milk from the cows that comes in the days after the cows give birth. The farmers say that this man brings such milk also to society. Other farmers are of the opinion that if this man's cows' milk is accepted by the society, then their cows' milk will not be given there.

The man had alleged that the society authorities were not accepting milk from his cows because of a CPM farmer. However, the farmers said that many of them are members of various political parties and milk is accepted here without any discrimination on caste, religion, or politics.
