
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government declared a public holiday for the state on April 9th, considering the assembly polls.
An order has been issued in this regard. All employees, including those in commercial and private institutions in the state, will be given paid leave. The order states that temporary employees should also be given paid leave.
The state will vote on April 9. The counting of votes will be on May 4. Candidates will have only 23 days to campaign. Permission to submit nominations is granted until March 23. Scrutiny will be done on March 24. Nominations can be withdrawn until March 26.
Voting in Tamil Nadu is on April 23. In Puducherry and Assam, the date is the same as in Kerala. In West Bengal, it will be held in two phases on April 23 and 29.
