Public homage till noon in Bengaluru; Income tax officials likely to be testified on death of C J Roy

BENGALURU: The funeral of Confident Group owner C J Roy, who committed suicide by shooting himself, will be held today. The funeral will be held in Koramangala, where his brother's house is located. The body will be brought to Koramangala from Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospitals after postmortem. Public homage will be there at his brother C J Babu's house until 1 pm and then his funeral will be held.

The police investigation is continuing. Confident Group director T J Joseph had filed a complaint with the police, stating that his death was due to pressure from income tax officials. In this situation, the statements of income tax officials from Kochi are likely to be recorded today. The police will also record the statements of Confident Group officials and family members. A detailed examination of Dr C J Roy's phones will also be held. The investigation is being led by Bengaluru Central DCP.

Income Tax officials from Kerala conducted a raid on the Confident Group offices. City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said the raid has been going on for three days. He said that details will be sought from the income tax officials. Two mobile phones of C J Roy have been taken into custody. The police have taken the gun into custody. The police have also decided to check the interactions on social media.
