NEW DELHI: Opposition leader VD Satheesan said that the seat-sharing talks are over and confirmed that Congress will contest in 95 seats. Indian Union Muslim League will contest in 27 seats, and the Kerala Congress Joseph faction in eight seats. VD Satheesan also said that the Kerala Congress Joseph faction gave back Idukki and Ettumanoor seats to the Congress.
“RSP contested in five seats last time. They will have five seats this time too. Congress will contest in Mattanur. In return, RSP have been given Payyanur. RSP and UDF have decided to support Kunhikrishnan, who is contesting as an independent in Payyanur. Kerala Congress Jacob faction's Anoop Jacob will contest from Piravom, CMP from Thiruvananthapuram, KTP from Pala, RMP from Vadakara and Trinamool Congress's PV Anvar from Beypore. Thus, 140 seats have been divided. UDF's second list of candidates will be announced today itself. It is not the state that decides whether MPs should contest or not. The final decision is with the high command,” VD Satheesan clarified.
