QR code for Chief Minister's Relief Fund withdrawn due to misuse concerns, UPI ID introduced as alternative

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister's office informed that QR code system for sending money to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund has been withdrawn. The action was taken in the context of misuse of QR code. UPI ID was provided on the portal as an alternative. Donation can be done through Google Pay through UPI ID keralacmdrf@sbi.

All account numbers of various banks of the relief fund have been provided on the portal www.donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in for donation. Donation can be made through online banking, debit/ credit cards, UPI or directly through account number by providing information through the direct payment system provided on the portal. You can instantly download the receipt for the donation made through this. Transactions through UPI will receive a receipt only after 48 hours. The chief minister also informed that a special officer will be appointed to spend the amount in the relief fund.

UPI QR codes of various accounts were provided on the portal of Chief Minister's Relief Fund and through social media. The action was taken after noticing the possibility of its misuse.
