THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With only hours left for the inaugural function of the Vizhinjam International Port by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, disputes on the credit of the project is still ongoing. The Congress has placed several posters and banners thanking former late chief minister Oommen Chandy, on the roads leading to the Vizhinjam port. The posters include sentences asking how Chandy can be forgotten.

Along with it, the BJP has also placed large flexes with pictures of the Prime Minister and BJP state president Rajiv Chandrasekhar. The BJP claim that the project will not be implemented without the central government. The LDF has also placed posters and flexes congratulating Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The flexes said that this is a proof of the state government's determination. The posters of the three parties have been placed in Vizhinjam, Mukkola and Kovalam.

Meantime, there are hints that opposition leader V D Satheesan will not attend tomorrow's event. Shashi Tharoor MP and M Vincent MLA will be representing him. VD Satheesan had shared the criticism of the LDF and the reports that came in leading party newspaper when the Vizhinjam project was launched. The opposition leader also wrote in the post that the then party secretary Pinarayi Vijayan was the one who raised the allegation that the Vizhinjam project was a real estate deal worth Rs 6,000 crore.
