THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rain is expected to continue across Kerala for the next two days, with northern districts likely to receive the heaviest showers. Gusty winds are also anticipated. However, due to a weakening of the westerly winds, the intensity of the rainfall may begin to decrease starting tomorrow.

Heavy rains have already claimed three lives. In Palakkad, 80-year-old Pathummabi died after a wall of her house collapsed in Manalady Lakshamveedu Colony, Mannarkkad. In Alappuzha, the body of 15-year-old Don Thomas Joseph, who went missing in the sea at Alappuzha Beach the previous day, was recovered from the shore. He was the son of Joseph Thomas and Shiji of Kottarachira. In Kasaragod, eight-year-old Sultan, a third-grade student at A.J.I. English Medium School in Uppala, died after slipping and falling into the Kokkachal stream near Bandyod.
